This is the home of the DUrham Hash House Harriers (DUHHH), which lies just east of Hogtown (Toronto to you wankers), and includes the cities of Pickering and Oshawa, the towns of Whitby and Ajax, the townships of Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock, and the municipality of Clarington. We welcome all half-minds from Durham, Hogtown and whatever rock they may crawl out from under.
This is one of several Canadian chapters of what is frequently referred to as "the international drinking club with a running problem." This tradition was started in 1938 by a group of British expatriates stationed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. "Hashers" run, or jog, on a pre-set trail of about 5-8 km. A typical Hash has a beer-check and is followed by food, plentiful refreshment, and much conviviality at a bar, restaurant or home close to the hash site.
The DUHHH kennel was founded by Aims Low, Anal Cumpulsion, Bumming a Fag and Stuporman in September 2005. We currently have monthly trails on Saturdays year-round. New Boots (i.e. first timers) are encouraged to come out - bring old shoes and a sense of humour (you do not have to be a runner or in in good shape to participate). Visitors are always welcome.
